Lessons of fear

Fear can lead to many great achievements. Great men are moved with fear. During moments of fear our greatest strengths are tested. In fact everything we are when under fear is manifested. Fear is a great value to those who love God. We do not try to banish all fear. In fact we want to be afraid at times. It can cause us to turn to God. Fear moves fools as well as the intelligent. But a fool does not let fear teach him. The intelligent who knows the value of fear will thank God for it. Fear can be torment if the person is not totally submitted to God. Many have strange phobias that takes them prisoner. I am not talking about this kind of fear being good. When a person is a slave to their fears, it is generally because they do not have the right relationship with God. When we have fear and in the right fellowship with God, it is a good thing. In fact the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. Fearing God is a good thing. It is here we must explore how to fear God and take these lessons and make us better people.

Revelation 14:7

When I studied Noah's flood I could see the people did not fear the coming flood. They did not fear the judgment of God. They covered over their fear with boldness to continue in their abominations. Because they would not allow Noah to put fear into them, they drowned. I saw in this the stupidity of sinners. When a sinner refuses the fear of God they are stupid. When they reject the preaching of a Man of God and boldly continue in their abominations, they are stupid. Stupid people have little or no fear concerning the evil things they are about to do or are doing.

Stupid: Lacking ordinary sense; dull of mind; foolish, insane, mental depravity.

Now because so many reject the lessons of fear, look at our society. How many mentally depraved? How man insane? How many whose minds are dull of common sense? And how many do not have rational thinking. When fear is missing people become stupid.

Those who did not get on Noah's Ark were stupid.

Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house (Hebrews 11:7).

Fear taught Noah to put himself to building the Ark. All of his labors. All of his skills. All of his burden. For 120 years. Moved with fear. Each day fear moved him from his bed to his work. And each year of his labors fear continued to teach him he could not quit. 120 years is a long time to be under fear. Each day it comes back again. Even when he went out and collected the animals, it was fear that drove his inspiration. Some cannot let the fear of God grip them for a half hour to pray for the Holy Ghost, let along govern their life after salvation until they die or Jesus comes.
