If you want to live the victorious life in Jesus Christ, full of faith, you must accept the provision that God has provided for your deliverance from sin.
Recently, I have been meditating on two key ideas 1 sin makes you weak, and 2 to despise those things which you cannot have.
Let me explain, sin makes you weak just as Adam and Eve were made weak in the Garden of Eden immediately after their sin and hid themselves and were afraid and ashamed of their act.
And to despise those things that you cannot have. For example when a man or boy looks at a girl or woman to lust after her he has committed sin in his heart already so it is the unlawful desire that is the sin not the person themselves that is being looked upon.
It's the sinful desire lust, we could look at the person as a friend for making friendship now that is lawful and ok but when we look at the other person as an object of physical desire and satisfaction to fulfill our lust then it is sin.
To make practical God's provision of deliverance from sin we are to be dead to sin by repentance. This is to be crucified with Christ.
Then, we are buried with Christ into his death. Baptized into Christ. This is how we get in Christ.
And having received the gift of the Holy Ghost evidence by speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance.
This is the Acts 2:38 message. Being born again of water and of the Spirit, as John 3:3-5 declares.
Now we are out of the lineage of Adam and translated into Christ. Adam's seed is no longer active in us. It has been deactivated. We have been translated from darkness to light, and the darkness is now past.
The seed of Jesus Christ is activated in us, therefore we cannot sin. Thus, we are partakers of His divine nature.
In conclusion, remember to despise sin and remember sin makes you weak.
