Passover Dates 26-34AD
The Passover of the house of Israel is all about "RETURN." It is all about "GOING UP." It is a celebration of escape and deliverance. It is a time to stop the clock, take a look back, and give God thanks for his great salvation. Passover is an evening where God is the object of Israel's hope. Everything that is set on the table, from the opening prayer, to the words of a child "why is this night different than all the rest", to the prayer, to the eating, to the remembering of the ten plagues, and at last to the Afikomen. Israel is to remember their great God and Savior and the holy people they are supposed to be.
We believe God knew the Temple would be destroyed. And we believe this is why Passover was not a Temple ceremony but an event to be celebrated in the home (their house of God). It was required and any Israelite who refused or did not observe this annual feast would be cut off from Israel. To show disrespect to the God of Israel by refusing to remember his great salvation from Egypt was unforgivable. To be cut off means to no longer have or share in any blessing or promise of Israel. This night was an evening where all Jews were to put God back on his throne in their life and they return to being his obedient servants and children.
As a Man of God for over 38 years, my insight into the Passover has led me to see why the Passover of Jesus Messieh has a very special place in the hearts of true believers. To many the Passover is all a game of novices playing with spiritual things, it's revelation is something to be ignored or given a minimal importance in the scope of their religious rituals. They can leave it and never observe it and count themselves saved and holy. But for me, I cannot and will not take the emblems of the Christian Passover as a ritual or religious act of perverted defiance. For us at Jesus House, it is a time to put Jesus back on his throne in our lives if we have in any way not allowed him to be Lord and King over us.
To me the holy Eliyeh, the RETURN, the GOING UP, has all to do with my faith and how I view Jesus. On Passover, all who collect and gather are RETURNING to the table and RETURNING to the Gospel of the Communion. Here, we each humble ourselves and remember the GOING UP of Jesus to Calvary. At this great feast our hearts go with him to the Cross. It is as if we are there and see his agony, his sufferings, and the shedding of his blood. There we witness as life leaves his body and he says "IT IS FINISHED."
As we at Jesus House gather on Passover evening you can be sure Pastor Reckart will lead the Feast in its proper decorum and in the holy Aliyeh of the children of God.
Here we will learn of Israel and Jesus, the Judaism of Christianity, our Aliyeh to the throne, and give witness of our faith that Jesus is the King of the Jews.
We will eat the unleavened bread and drink our portion of the Cup. We will surrender each of us to be the holy people of God. This is not an option. This is a requirement. It is essential. We cannot be saved without it. For us at Jesus House, the Passover of Jesus is a demonstration of our greatest faith. In this one night all the balance of our faith has merit and purpose. From our water baptism to our Spirit baptism, we bring it all subject to the supremacy of the Cross.
I know many will attempt to observe Passover but their hearts are not truly in it. Some will do it out of jealousy or even out of just being copy-cats or for the purpose of conflict and contention. They have no revelation and will observe the Communion with no more respect than eating at McDonald's. But at Jesus House it is the chief feast of the whole year. No other religious service has more respect and honor. This night is God's night. This night is the night in which Jesus took unleavened bread and wine and distributed it to the Apostles. On this night he said "this is my body and this is my blood." And on this night he said "do this in remembrance of me."
So on the evening of April 18th, the children of God at Jesus House will come to the Temple of the sacred name. They will enter the house of God that is dedicated to his name. And here, the Passover table will be set. Here we will be gathered in faith and in humility of soul. Here we will come to the table and the Feast of Eternal Life will begin.
I will post some pictures of our Feast.
This year we will have our new projector and large screen installed. Pastor Reckart will put together a video of Passover according to the revelation of Jesus Christ. If you are not here you will not get to view it. It will be shared only to a small group of God's ministers.
Passover Aliyeh, Next year Jerusalem!
